Linde Werdelin Oktopus Double Date Carbon

Linde Werdelin - Oktopus Double Date 3DTP Carbon

by Alen - Haute Review July 13, 2019
At the time of this post its summer, not just another one; a extremely hot day here in Los Angeles.  One watch comes to my mind to enjoy comfortably and to embrace all that this season has to offer.
Just in time Linde Werdelin introduces two new and exciting versions of the Oktopus family which encompasses Linde Werdelin’s passion for the great depths of the oceans in two equally beautiful variations, bright yellow and ocean blue.

The Double Date movement developed with Dubois- Depraz, (the 118 year old family owned complications maker recognized as one of the best in the industry) is one of the most exciting releases to date. The Oktopus Double Date 3DTP case is made of the extremely lightweight 3 Dimensional Thin Ply (3DTP) carbon.
Check out the amazing manufacturing process below.

As displayed in the process above the Oktopus Double Date 3DTP case is made of the extremely lightweight 3 Dimensional Thin Ply (3DTP) carbon, a marvel of engineering that took years to master and involves a proprietary technique of layering thin sheets of carbon.
Perfecting the material for the angular Oktopus case took two years of development and prototyping, Linde Werdelin has a history of rigorous R & D, Engineering and development prior to the release of a new model.  In this case, the result is an extremely scratch resistant and lightweight case - in fact, it is the lightest Oktopus case in existence.

3DTP carbon was also chosen because aesthetically the layered carbon and surface treatments give the illusion of depth and solid dark - as well as matching the black ceramic bezel. A further detail on the Oktopus 3DTP is the hardening TiN ceramic coating of the Double Date date wheels as well as bezel screws, strap screws and back case.

To celebrate summer and life at sea bright yellow and ocean blue has been applied as accents to the dial each with a matching natural rubber strap. The Linde Werdelin strap system allows the wearer interchangeable options, should they wish to switch to any other strap or bracelet.
